KARNATAKA COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (KCET) 

The Karnataka Common Entrance Test is conducted for the purpose of determining the eligibility / merit, for admission of Karnataka candidates including the wards of Jammu and Kashmiri migrants to the First year or First semester of full time courses for admission to  Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Urani, Naturopathy & Yoga, Engineering, Technology, Farm Science courses, B pharm and pharm-D courses for the year 2017-18 in institutions within the State of Karnataka.

 

For admission to Medical and Dental courses candidates have to appear for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) - 2017 conducted by CBSE.
 

For admission to Architechture course candidates must appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture .

 

Eligibility 

Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy, Yoga (ISM&H): Passed in 2nd PUC/12th standard with English as one of the languages and obtained minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (40% for SC/ST/Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)


Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech): Passed in 2nd PUC/12th standard with English as one of the languages and obtained a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Biology/Electronics/Computer (40% for SC/ST/Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)

Architecture (B.Arch): Passed in 2nd PUC/12th standard with Mathematics as compulsory optional subject and obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in all the subjects (45% for SC/ST/Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)

Minimum of 40% marks in NATA for all categories of students including SC/ST/OBC

B.Sc (Agriculture, Forestry, Sericulture, Agri Biotech, Horticulture), B.H.Sc (Home Science): Passed in 2nd PUC/12th standard with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects

Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc & A.H.): Passed in 2nd PUC/12th standard and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects (40% for SC/ST/Cat-1, 2A, 3A and 3B category candidates)

B.Tech (Food Technology, Dairy Technology), B.F.Sc (Bachelor of Fisheries Sciences), B.Tech (Food Science and Technology), B.Sc (Ag Marketing and Co-operation): Passed in 2nd PUC/12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology as optional subjects

B.Tech (Agriculture Engineering): Passed in 2nd PUC/12th standard with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as optional subjects

B-Pharma: Passed in 2nd PUC/12th standard /equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in PCM/PCB (40% for SC/ST/CAT-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates); or

Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act and has secured minimum of 45 marks. (40% for SC/ST/CAT-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)

2nd Year B.Pharma: Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act and has secured minimum of 45 marks. (40% for SC/ST/CAT-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)

Pharma-D: Passed in 2nd PUC/12th standard /equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; or

Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institutions approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act

Note: A candidates who had obtained a seat in any discipline through the KEA (CET Cell) in any of the previous years will not be eligible to appear for the Common Entrance Test-2017 for selection of a seat in the same discipline

However, candidates are eligible to appear for a seat in different discipline subject to his forfeiting the earlier seat allotted to him on being assigned a seat this year

Application Form

Within Karnataka: Brochure cum Application Form will be supplied through the schools/colleges located within Karnataka where the students are pursing 2nd PUC or 12th standard
The students have to first download the Clallam from KEA website http://kea.kar.nic.in by entering the name, date of birth, category and the name of the bank (State Bank of Mysore, Indian Bank, Central Bank of India)

Then the students have to pay the requisite fee in any of the respective bank branches
The bank will retain a copy of the Challan (Bank copy) and handover the remaining two copies of the Challan to the students

Further, students have to handover the Challan (KEA copy) to the concerned School/College Principle to obtain the brochure

Cost of the Brochure is Rs.650/- (Rs.500/- SC/ST Category-I) or through NEFT transaction to Account No 878333780 with NEFT /IFSC Code IDIB000M10 at the Indian Bank, Malleswaram Branch, Bangalore (UTR number for other than Indian Bank branches and journal number for Indian Bank branches)

Students and colleges need to keep record of UTR Number as proof for having remitted the prescribed fee through NEFT. Filled-in-Application Forms will be submitted by the students to their respective colleges and hard copy of the Application form duly filled by the students of the Colleges in Karnataka with endorsement of the College will be reached to Administrative Office, Karnataka Examinations Authority Malleshwaram, 18th Cross, Sampige Road, Bangalore-560012 on or before 01st week of April 2017 by the colleges in Karnataka

Last date to pay the fee in the bank after downloading the challan and for submission of KEA challan copy to the colleges is 2nd March 2017

Outside Karnataka: The Karnataka candidates residing outside Karnataka (Horanadu, Gadinadu and other Karnataka candidates i.e., who fulfills the eligibility conditions) who are studying or who have studied 12th standard or equivalent examination outside the State of  Karnataka, within the territory of India, can procure the brochure cum application form by Speed Post by sending a self-addressed cloth-lined envelope of size 15 cm ´ 30 cm along with a demand draft for Rs.750/- drawn in favour of "The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore" payable at Bangalore and a Karnataka candidate residing outside India can get the broacher cum application form by sending a demand draft for Rs.5000/-

The contents on the self-addressed envelope should be in English or Kannada language only
The cover in which the demand draft and self addressed envelope are sent should be boldly super scribed with the words "Request for CET-2017 Brochure" and should be sent to the following address of Executive Director by "Speed Post" only

The KEA will not take responsibility for the envelopes sent through courier or given in person or through any other private arrangement and also for incomplete and insufficient address on the envelope

Candidates are advised to verify and confirm that they are fulfilling any one of the eligibility clauses updated on the KEA website http://kea.kar.nic.in and also in the brochure before applying for admission to Govt seats in Professional Colleges in the state of Karnataka for the year 2017

For any reason the fee paid by the candidates will not be refunded
